To celebrate her 30th year in business, Rachel has gone through her archive and past collections to handpick her favourite designs from over the years. It’s been such a joy to go through the archive that we have decided to make them available to order from our bespoke collection.

EPONINE X Rachel Trevor Morgan
We are delighted to announce the official launch of the EPONINE X Rachel Trevor Morgan headwear range.
A capsule collection that is colourful and playful to perfectly compliment their Autumn/Winter 2020 collection which was inspired by JOY. In this time of doom and gloom, they hoped this collection might act as an antidote, however small. It was made using predominantly colourful fabrics and features the unique details for which EPONINE is known.

Fashion shoot in Dartmoor by Sarah Kate Byrne
Sustainable fashion stylist Sarah Kate Byrne teamed up with London-based fashion brand Eponine, known for their slow fashion approach and use of up-cycled fabrics to showcase some of their most iconic bespoke dresses alongside two of their new ready-to-wear pieces. Renowned Devon based photographer Hazel Mansell Greenwood captured each of the 6 unique looks against equally unique backdrops on Dartmoor.
Sarah chose to pair the 6 dresses with vintage jewellery & accessories from Emma Caderni Vintage, a force in the vintage world for more than 30 years and whose unique eye has attracted Lulu Guinness to launch a recent collaboration.
Sarah also selected hand-made millinery pieces from Rachel Trevor-Morgan’s St James’s atelier to compliment some of the looks, showing how a day dress can be dressed up with a beautiful headpiece or a standout look can be created with the right millinery pairing. Sarah’s passion for sustainable fashion & supporting small businesses is even more pertinent in the current climate so flexing her styling skills to mix & match contemporary & secondhand fashion and to team up complimentary brands & entrepreneurial women was a dream styling job.

30 years in business
On this day 30 years ago I started Rachel Trevor Morgan millinery.
It’s been a wonderful journey and I’ve never once regretted my career choice. I love hats and I love my craft. Thank you to my wonderful team and especially Ann, who has been by my side throughout. Thank you to Graham Smith for offering me an apprenticeship and inspiring me.
I am so lucky to have a job that I enjoy every day. Even though this year is a rough ride, we are feeling positive for the future.
We have some exciting projects in the making and we look forward to sharing them with you very soon.
To another 30 years!
Rachel
Feltmakers Hat Design Award 2020
The annual Feltmaker’s Design Competition is without doubt a major award for those working towards a career in millinery, being tailored specifically for students, apprentices and those who have recently launched headwear businesses of their own. With no set theme, the competition opens the door for innovative design to develop processes, shapes, styles and interesting combinations of felt with other materials. Seven prizes are given overall, including one for artwork, which must be submitted with each hat, to show the thought process and inspiration behind the design, including the construction and any new developments used in the making.
This years’ Feltmakers’ Design Award judging took place in Luton with a with a somewhat reduced judging panel. Noel Stewart, Bill Horsman and Rachel made the final decisions. We had over 40 from the UK as well as some European entries from students, apprentices and new start-ups.
We are thrilled to announce the winners of the 2020 Feltmakers Hat Design Competition:
First Prize – Nora de la Quintana, KCC/Morley College
Second Prize – Anna Kittson, KCC/Morley College
Third Prize – Leah Hislop, Northampton College
Craftsmanship Award – Sarah Blackmore, KCC/Morley College
Commercial Appeal Award – Tina Williams, Hereford and Ludlow College
